Keep the Faith

"If I had to use one word to describe my event, it would be professional…My faith in using hotel AV has been restored…The set was beautiful and I received only praises and compliments.” - Sean Smith, The Cleaning Authority

Words spoken directly from our client after the event.  Its moments like these that make all of our hard work worth while. Our technical crew went above and beyond expectations to deliver a high quality set at a minimal budget, and everyone walked away happy.  Job well done!

They’re off...

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Spring is in the air (at least most days!) and that means only one thing! Derby! The 140th running of the “Most Exciting and Fastest Two Minutes In Sports” officially began this past week with the 58th annual They’re Off Luncheon. Complete with festival princesses and Derby hats the luncheon is a community tradition marking the official beginning of The Kentucky Derby Festival. Kirk Herbstreit kept the feel of the event light and fun as this years featured speaker along side Governor Steve Beshear and Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer.  It’s exciting to be a part of such a wonderful community event and provide our unique entertainment and technology services to bring the “ESPN Gameday” feel to this years event. And…They’re off!

Trucking Along…

Monday, April 14, 2014
Accomplishing a goal is a wonderful thing.  After the 2013 Peterbilt press conference at the Mid America Truck Show (held here in Lovely Louisville) -  we knew we had some work to do.  And so goals were set: we needed to improve the fit and finish of our stage sets and increase the level of service we were providing our customers on a one-on-one basis.  Well the 2014 Mid America Truck Show has come and gone – and we feel a sense of accomplishment. The Peterbilt set finally had a trade show level of fit and finish and we believe we stepped up our attention to and service for the client. Thanks to a crew and staff with a goal in their minds and a determination to succeed – the Axxis team exceeded the clients expectation this year. Now, with new goals in sight – we'll just keep trucking along…

Go BIG or Go Home

Tuesday, April 08, 2014

"Go BIG or Go Home" might be a good slogan for GE's Big Event currently being held here in Louisville, KY. A two week gathering that includes a general session room, several educational breakouts, and ping pong (yes, ping pong!) - the Big Event features one of our newer scenic designs.  The ping pong was part of a BIG game night featuring the NCAA Championship in HD on two  BIG  (10'x17') screens. A BIG Event needs BIG impact and we think we delivered in a BIG way (if we do say so ourselves). Now, it is true that GE can call Louisville home, so perhaps we should say they "Went BIG and Are Home".

What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas!

Tuesday, April 01, 2014

They may say "What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas" - but we couldn't help but share some pictures of our crew for the 2014 International Pizza Expo! Celebrating its 30th year – the International Pizza Expo was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center and featured 1081 exhibit booths, five days of breakout sessions and workshops, Keynote speakers Donatella Arpaia (restauranteur and repeat judge on The Food Network's Iron Chef America) and Artichokes/the Cooking Channel's "Pizza Cuz". This event also sported a "Beer and Bull" afternoon session, two show floor demonstration areas, the International Pizza Challenge area, the World Pizza Games Stage, and a block party style Birthday Bash open to all attendees.  Now it is true that this week long event is a bit of legend here at Axxis for potentially the most steps walked on a job (next year I'm counting!) - but it might also be fair to say this show also holds record for most calories consumed by an Axxis Crew thanks to the plentiful samples on the Exhibit Floor. Those details, however, WILL stay in Vegas…

Built a what? Over a What? 2 of them? By when?

Monday, March 31, 2014

Sure, we can do that!  When asked if we could build 2 stages over MACK Truck chassis for a trade show in just 10 days, we said....sure.  When asked how we would accomplish this, we replied, "Well, were not sure yet.  Let us get back to you".  24 hours later we had two solutions to accomplish the task.  After working out all the engineering and designing the support structures for the 2  stages, we were inspired by another option and presented the new option too.  Below is the final result based on the 3rd option.  One stage supported a band and the other stage was used as a platform for 2 tattoo artists hired to ink-up attendees with MACK inspired tattoos. We also did remote PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras, large LED video wall, wireless camera, and the audio for the band.

We have one too!

It seems that every technology or event company has the obligatory TIME-LAPSE on their website.  Well, here is ours! We actually have two...this one is good...but, if you want to see the best time-lapse EVER watch the second video. It's somewhere else on the website too, but...let's make it easy.  The first one is PG rate but the second one is R rated. An R rated time-lapse...that's right...that's what we do.

What's in the Box?

New HD Happiness!  It’s a new projector…make that 4 new projectors.

We continue to make significant investments in HD Projection and the recent purchase of 4 new Christie HD14K-M 1080 HD DLP projectors is certainly a big step. Added to our recent purchase of HD panasonic switchers and a new mobile rack system, the effort is really starting to pay off for everyone.

The images look stunning and have made an major impact on every event. We researched HD projectors for just over two years and finally pulled the trigger a couple of weeks ago when these pictures were taken. They didn't stay in Louisville long...days later, they were in Miami on an event.

If a picture is worth a thousand words...

Here are a several thousand words about a couple recent shows we did here in Louisville, KY; Branson, MO and San Antonio, TX. Our recent investment in scenic seems to be getting around.
